Schedule

Friday, May 4
4:30 pm
Vans depart from Ecology building (loading dock area); drive to Beards Bluff Campground; camp.
Saturday, May 5 Paddling trip on Altamaha River. Return to Beards Bluff for Fish Fry in evening and camping.
Sunday, May 6

Return to Athens.

Directions to Beard’s Bluff Campground

From Macon take Interstate16 past Metter to the exit for Hwy 301. Go South on 301 through Claxton to Glennville and beyond. 301 will cross Beards Creek about 7-8 miles after the McDonalds in Glennville, take the first dirt road to the right after the bridge. (Look for sign for the fish camp on the left side of 301.) Follow the dirt road for 4.5 miles and take a right at the fish camp sign. This road will take you directly into the camp. Everyone should check in at the country store to find out where they are staying.
