environmental finance resources for georgia communities

Ryan Eaves, Institute of Ecology and Department of Public Administration and Policy.
Abstract
Environmental financing approaches are among the most innovative and fastest growing type of financing options in the country today. They are designed to reward and encourage environmental protection throughout communities, from the private to the public sector. There are numerous options available, the problem is that most communities do not know about them, especially in Georgia.
Many communities across Georgia desire to participate in conservation efforts, however, they rarely know how to fund these efforts. This project will provide an annotated list of these options, which will be distributed throughout the Upper Altamaha watershed, and ultimately statewide. This list will include grant and loan options, as well as government tools to produce revenue for environmental projects. Examples of the use of each of these options will be provided.
