The aquatic fauna of Georgia, particularly Northeast Georgia, make up one of the most diverse freshwater communities in the world. You can find more types of fish and mussels in many of your local streams than almost anywhere else on the planet. Many Georgians do not realize the great diversity of living things right in their own backyards. These activities will introduce students to the types of living things found in Georgia watersheds and to related issues such as diversity and habitats.
