Many of our current environmental problems stem from a disconnection between people and their resources. For example, many people do not realize that Georgia is a hot-spot for aquatic diversity; if they don't know how unique and valuable these freshwater communities are, how can they protect them? These activities try to connect students to their watersheds so that the students can learn what they have in their own communities and what they can do to become informed and active citizens.
