There are many people and organizations that have played a role in helping us make this project happen. First, we would like to thank Laurie Fowler and Ron Carroll in University of Georgia's Institute of Ecology for offering us the opportunity to learn about the Clean Water Act and its implementation through the Environmental Law Practicum. Their persistence has and will continue to help many communities achieve Clean Water Act standards. Also, we are very grateful for their flexibility, cooperation, and trust with our project. The River Basin Center and its entire staff do great work to promote these sustainable initiatives, and we would like to thank them for continually working with the graduate students in the Practicum Class.

There were also countless people who taught us about middle school science education, but Deborah Tippins was our biggest influence. Her enthusiasm about our project, multitude of suggestions, and willingness to use and publish our lessons was invaluable. And her "Alternative Solutions Matrix" format has become the cornerstone of this project. All of the professors in University of Georgia's College of Education, especially from the Science Education department, were incredibly helpful as we learned about education standards, lesson-writing, and what teachers and students want and need in an educational resource. Everyone in the department was always welcoming, and we are grateful for their smiles and the confidence they had in us.

There were many other people and organizations who contributed to the success of this project, including David Knauft and the Science Behind Our Food Program, Scott Connelly and EcoReach, Karen Garner and The Georgia Conservancy, Carol Hoffman, Eva McLanahan, Dava Coleman and the Partnership for Reform in Science and Mathematics (PRISM), and the Environmental Education Alliance of Georgia.

This project is made possible by US EPA Clean Water Act 319 program funds, administered by the Georgia Environmental Protection Division, Non-Point Source Program.

Many thanks to all of you!
