service & outreach: land use planning & growth management: Conservation subdivisions are designed to protect natural areas by clustering development and minimizing infrastructure, such as streets and utilities, away from sensitive environmental resources. Property values often increase as land is conserved since homeowners are willing to pay for access to open space. Open space is protected in perpetuity by a conservation easement and may have multiple low-impact uses such as recreation and stormwater control.
